[texts]Bruce Springst Zine - Mike Saturday Lecky
6am. The security office looks exactly like every other security office I've ever been in. Am I in the mall in Ottawa right now? Circus Circus? No, these fuckers are obviously taking their job way too seriously, I'm still in the fucking airport in Toronto. They've stripped me down to my underwear and left me in a weird cell with nothing. Jesus Christ. I think, without my notebooks I'm going to lose track of hours...

[texts]Revolutionary Solidarity
This zine contains writings that explore the concept of "solidarity." "Solidarity" is a term that is often tossed around in anarchist circles, often without regard for what it actually means. Revolutionary Solidarity explores the question of what solidarity means in practice and how solidarity can become revolutionary. For the authors, the answer lies in making solidarity synonymous with action.

[texts]Anarchism and the English Language - Kristian Williams and Crimethinc
This zine features an essay by Kristian Williams titled "Anarchism and the English Language" in which Williams criticizes many of the ways in which anarchists chose to communicate their ideas through written language. Williams criticizes the use of vague phrases, specialized language, rhetorical inflation, and more. It's a very good consideration of the topic. The zine also features a brief piece by Crimethinc which questions some of Williams recommendations...

[texts]Opening Doors: A Primer
Opening Doors is a useful introduction to squatting. Whereas other zines on the topic are clearly dated, Opening Doors was written after the "housing crisis" and comes out of the context of increased foreclosures and empty houses. It discusses how to form a group, how to find a building, how to secure a building, moving in, and provides basic legal information (although it can be a little Portland-specific as that is where the authors come from)...

This short text originally appeared in 2001 in the anarchist publication "Killing King Abacus." It explores the topic of alienation in contemporary society and its ever increasing pervasiveness. Arguing that "the system" wants people to be atomized and detached from each other and that atomization will continue as long as society exists, the author argues that anarchists can resist alienation by "...creating projects for ourselves which promote real interactions outside of the roles and relation...

A basic introduction to participating in a large-scale direct action protest (although the tips would likely be helpful for smaller scale actions too).
